How we managed an international career - Dreamers Circus and Tom Scherlock
Since the trio's formation in 2009, the Danish-Swedish Dreamers' Circus has generated millions of plays on Spotify and toured the world. With a solid background in traditional and roots music, the trio has come to represent a genre-bending amalgam of folk, jazz and classical music, distilled through an openness to popular musical influences. Since their inception, they have established themselves as one of Denmark's leading music ensembles, as evidenced by their recent recognition from the Statens Kunstfund as a "Special Ensemble".
In this exclusive conversation, we meet the trio's manager Tom Sherlock and band member Ale Carr, who plays the zither. They talk about how they built an international career together - through strategic tour choices, Nordic branding and networking. The call is in English.
